Wands for Wildlife
Over the past couple of years, the Zero Waste movement has gained significant momentum. This movement grew in popularity with a simple Kickstarter campaign to develop a line of reusable straws, cleverly named FinalStraw. Since then, people have been successfully developing unique and popular solutions to reduce waste.
A couple of days ago, I learned of another successful zero waste program. Wands for Wildlife is organized by the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge. Through this, you can donate used mascara wands to the refuge to be used to clean animals. The volunteers found that the bristles of mascara were purrfect at removing insects and eggs from the animals’ fur.
So instead of tossing your old mascara, take a few minutes to consider Wands for Wildlife . You can easily help the environment & wildlife at the same time.
