It’s dangerous to go alone
Growing up in the 80s and 90s, the technology and the Information Super Highway that has since been integrated into our lives was sold to us with two very big promises: to empower our lives through leveraging the power of the processor and to bring people closer together. Sure, the high tech Monkey’s Paw delivered but it’s far from what we imagined. Information and device addiction is gaining recognition. Growing contact lists are diminishing the quality of the individual relationships. The ease and speed of mass communication rapidly creates polarized walled gardens.
It does not have to be this way.
Over the past several years, we have seen how technology can use the pretense of social networking to isolate us. I believe by shifting the focus to micro-networking and personal experiences, that the quality and fulfillment levels can reach their true potential.
